Hello Hive,

found a Map i like to use and stumbled over the maximum Cell Limit after i put into a lot of Stuff. i rearranged the Borders+Camera for the Mappart i use. However is there a Way to make the full Map playable?
Another User mentioned in a similar Post: "Maybe WEU (World Editor Unlimited) can do it" <-- is that True, any other workarround?

You can use all 480x480, that's the size and that's what you get.

You need to extend both the camera and map bounds when resizing.
hi, i activated both camera and map size but as soon i do so the preview jumps to the left area. i can rearange the area but the Editor didint let me overcome the 256x256. i click on the activated arrows but nothing happens as soon as i reach 256x256. Could you explain how you did it?

I think you need to balance it so it's a perfect square. It looks like you're resizing too much on one of the four sides. So start fresh with your original map size, and begin extending each side one after the other so you get an even distribution. It's not a very intuitive system.

you were right i clicked like 10 times in one direction, now i balanced it so i proceed with only 1 click on every direction. Unluckily as soon as i reach 256x256 it wont work. i can for example go 250x262 -> so its still possible to say i wont more of the map on this side but it comes all times with the condition to firstly snap it away on the other side.
when i open it and watch under map properties it says 480x480. as soon as i click Reset camera limits to default it says 256x256. is that an indicator?
is it maybe possible that the original size was very small and the author designed a beautiful landscape, saved it and now its not possible since the basemapsize never was big in the start anyway?

No, you can resize the map anyway you'd like, you just have to do it properly. Again it's not very intuitive.

Here's how I got it to work.

Step 1: Uncheck modify camera bounds and check modify map bounds. Then click the arrows to extend the size and make sure to do this evenly on each side. The final size has to be a multiple of 32:

Step 2: Uncheck modify map bounds and check modify camera bounds. Then click the arrows to extend the camera, you don't need to do it evenly. You may want the camera bounds to be slightly smaller like in the photo (the standard setup):

Step 3: Hit OK and celebrate.

I used a different map and your Solution step by step works until i reach 256x256.
unfortunately this does not apply to the map in question. it behaves completely differently. As soon as I make any change: no matter which direction, the map jumps to 256x256 and always the same area. Once that happens you can no longer make the map larger, only smaller. When I want to save the map to 480x480, the editor complains about the cell limit of 60k aka 256x256 maximum.. I feel stupid but since I saw that your approach works, something must be broken with the map. further ideas?
something i forgot to mention i play on 1.27, maybe this wasnt possible in this kind of version?

Could be a version limitation, I'm always on the latest patch (currently 1.36). Last I remember 1.27 didn't even support 480x480...

ahhhhhh, thats the problem when user dont give proper informations. then its clear, the version was the problem^^
Thanks a lot anyway, in the future i have a better understanding about the Borders of the Worldeditor and the good news if i upgrade to a newer version
it is highly likely to work like a charm.
Thanks for taking the Time!

I recommend upgrading to the latest patch. It has good features, some minor bugs in reforged graphics thought. I still make maps in HD graphics, you have access to lots of native functions in the trigger editor, players can code the map in a real game code: LUA.

Also making text and other things in the object editor are a lot easier. For example you can just make a custom color in the Object Editor, select text and click "apply color".

Latest patch, classic graphics is still very smooth experience. You can also hold on to the 1.27 version, just make sure the files don't conflict. Put them on different disks on your computer.
