Looks great though the Lightning is not that noticeable in the icon because of also the dark background but I do understand you are not trying to emphasize the lightning because its just a part of the storm so overall, looking good. But try to make the lightning bigger. That is all and 4/5. Great job and +4 REP!

edit: I just tried zooming it in, and well, the ground is lost that way and the whole idea of the icon is too. Although it looks more centered, it doesn't look better

Chaosy, I did add a little glow, but then reduced it, probably should have kept it hmm..
and the lightning is from .. white-blue to 255 255 255 white.. so, I can't make it anymore brighter. I mean, the main lightning. The sparklings are a bit bluer and darker, cuz I didn't want them to catch attention..but I guess a little glow would do nicely here
