As you say, this is very simple. I think you need to fill some of the space. And also, you say "simple sword with blood" but i doesnt see any blood? Anyways, work a little more on it and it will be great.

way too much empty space. you really need to utilise as much space possible. an icon is only 64x64 and what you must aim for is to give the best representation of your idea in that tiny space
