This is a render icon of paradise.engineeri's Long Sword model. (which can be found here https://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/long-sword-221511/)
I've generated the background, smoothed the model a bit, rendered it, added some shadows and a slight black outline and converted to .BLP. He has given me the permission to do this, as he doesn't want to mess with technical things, and I really thought those models deserved an icon.

If you could see it is a longsword, the sword would take 5% of the screen.

He could have made it like blizzard did with the dagger of teleportation.

Except for, it is a dagger. This sword is too big to be placed like that and still look like a sword. Though, it is actually a neat trick for short blades.

That would have looked shitty. A dagger is immensely shorter than a longsword. While DoT offers interesting perspective, it wouldn't have worked for a longsword, unless you want it to look like a toothpick.
