Annoying? The shading is very nice and makes up as an attraction for the loss of background. Perfect.

Hmm, this is nice. Actually I think that the black background emphasizes the blade quite well. The green part could use more depth though.

As an "inventory/equip weapon" icon, you may very well be done. As an "ability" icon (if you were going for that), I think the black background is a little too oppressive; perhaps a splash of color?

Nice background, good shading on the sharp part, try to add some more shading on the flat part, or try reducing the saturation on that part. Amazing still.

I really like this and the one with the blue glow icon. Very useful and liked the way you drew this. Anyway, maybe like what some icon makers do such as Apheraz, you could add some more different variation such as a Green dagger with green glow, red glow and etc just for a bonus.

Hm I like that idea. I might get around and do this at some point and upload them in post #2.
The icons could be used as upgrades then.

In the upgrades, perhaps, brighter glows? If you only change the color, they might just be viewed as variations.
