Screeny icons are allowed in 1-1 ratio guys :)

Please but a proper name for the icon so it's easier to track it in the imported resources/downloads (such as BTNForestLord).

Even tho it's a screeny and it will get approved if model gets approved, I'd like to see you try to do a few things with these: such as a little higher level of contrast, and then to pale (desaturate) all colors a little - that will make it fit really nice with other ladder icons. Other than that, a couple of outlining will give it that Blizzard style :)

I've took the liberty to add those mentioned effects to your icon, just to show you that even screeny icons could use some love :)

1. The original icon
2. Increased contrast of entire icon
3. Desaturated entire icon
4. Added 1 pixel black outlines to everything
5. Added the eye glow and blackened the edges to give it an extra edge :)

When you update a resource, or try to see the new images of uploaded resources, you'll have to hard-refresh the page in order to clear the cache. Press CTRL + F5 for a hard-refresh.

Ontopic: the icon is breathtaking now, compared to the simple screeny! As you can see, a simple edit does a splendid work :)

This icon in this neatly polished state, also, now can be used for various number of abilities for treants and Night Elven buildings as well! Amazing job, Hayate!

Thanks for the Guide anyway :p

Edit: I was thinking to start play with photoshop and 2d art, do you have any good tutorial to start with?

@Hayate, I'll have you'll find a great, and also productive, time trying out the ever-lasting Kimbo's tutorial, but if you have not too much experience with Icons, I guess you could give Palaslayer a shot at his tutorial. And perhaps you could do with NFWar's once you get the hang of how the brushes go, and what Pixel Art actually is. When you're a little bit more experienced, try to roll the rock on CrazyRussian's tutorial, or dive in full professional to Pyramidhe@d's tutorial, which not only offers a complete and incredibly described guide, but also features a mini-tutorial on how to execute a proper light source and shadows.

Anyways, here are the links, in order I've mentioned them:
