Reforged sucks arse major time, and I want no part of it
Can anyone fetch a 1.26 compatible version of Bribe`s Damage Detecting System? Like, 3.8 or 3.8A or smh

There is no longer too much reason to buy Reforged in order to play on the latest patch. As long as you have a legit key attached to your own Battle.net account, you can still get an up-to-date version of Warcraft III "Classic". You should too unless you have a compelling reason to be on 1.26.

Please do what PurgeandFire suggested. Or you can simply follow my advice on updating your existing WC3 to the latest patch if you want to get a working Damage Detection System (DDS; not to be confused with the DDS one that refers to the Reforged textures).

Edit: You can use YDWE PK (World Editor) as Daffa suggested below. It's basically an alternate version of JNGP, but with additional features like better optimizations, new GUI systems, among the others (you can also enable both doodad and 8MB map limit remover with YDWE). The only downside is that you need at least Reforged installation if you want to test map, and that you can't open YDWE/JNGP if you had previously opened vanilla editor from Reforged.

Well, the good folks in Blizzard might force yet another patch down the throats of the people working with Reforged, and knowing how negligent and downright disrespectul they are...
I don't want to update my stuff every few months, and I fear that I physically won't be able to, as I already need a VPN or a Proxy to access Hive.
Edit: 1.26 because it's the most popular version outside of Battle.net
most custom maps are supported by it and I'm accustomed to it

Thanks a lot! I've got more than I ever wanted)

People are still playing 1.26 as of today because it still has a multiplayer functionality through 3rd party servers. This also includes the ability for LAN play through GameRanger, Hamachi, and RadminVPN. Also, 1.26 is still required for DOTA games (especially the ones made by dracol1ch and Iccup servers) since they use some kind of map protection/memhack exploits. However, some people (like me) choose to go straight to the higher patches, particularly 1.31, because of new features that 1.26 doesn't officially offer. This includes proper Widescreen, 24 players, and World Editor upgrades (vJass, Lua, custom UI, object limit increase, etc.). Unlike 1.26, 1.31 has a lot of bugs, specifically melee AI not learning hero spells (this can be reverted by doing some workaround like triggers; I just already did that) and corrupted saves, but that version should be good enough for map making in case you don't have Reforged.
