Let me begin by asking this: How many of you likes books? Well, I certainly don't! Just seeing how thick they are triggers my bowel movement! I see books not as a means of obtaining new knowledge and expanding my views, but as blunt weapons used to bludgeon someone to death (if used properly, you can even turn them into lethal projectiles; practice makes perfect!).

Luckily, SotP is not is not real life; that means the books there are much, much smaller and (instead of reading about 500 pages in average) all the information you'll need will be expressed in 10-15 lines of text.

I'm not sure if -Kobas- has already spread the word about the new "books" feature, but nevertheless the purpose of this post is to, once again, ask for your help.

UNCLE S... I mean, -KOBAS- WANTS YOU :fp: to help make SotP the greatest map ever!

Here's an example of how it should look like:

JASS:
set BOOK_TEXT[1] = " Nchylbar the Old Adventurer|n
--------------------------------------------------
    |c00FFFFFFNchylbar had enjoyed an adventurous
youth, but had grown to be a very wise,
very old adventurer who spent his life
searching for the truth and dispelling
    superstitions. But much
of the world still puzzled him, and
nothing was a greater enigma to him that
the nature of the Ancient Elves and Magic.

Nothing, however, was a greater question
to Nchylbar than the limits of divine power.
Were the Greater Beings the masters of the
entire world, or did the humbler creatures
have the strength to forge their own
    destinies?

No one knows what happened to him, all that
remains is knowledge saved in old books.|r
--------------------------------------------------"
        set BOOK_TEXT[2] = " The Darkests Fears|n
--------------------------------------------------
    |c00FFFFFFBrother, I still call you
brother for we share our bonds of blood,
tested but unbroken by hatred. Even if
I am murdered, which seems inevitable
now, know that, brother. You and me are
not innocents, so our benedictions of
mutual enmity is not tragedy, but
horror. This state of silent, shadowed
war, of secret poisons and sleeping men
strangled in their beds, of the sudden
arrow and the artful dagger, has no end
that I can see. No possibility for peace.
I see the shadows in the room move
though the flame of my candle is steady.
    I know the signs that I …|r

        set BOOK_TEXT[3] = " Hunter's Journal Vol. 1|n
--------------------------------------------------
    |c00FFFFFFTracked down a small den of
bears today. Their pelts are in fine
condition and should fetch a good price.
Going to set up camp for the night and
kill the beasts in the morning.
Hopefully we can get by on the few
arrows we have left, or I may have to
    fall back on my blade.|r
--------------------------------------------------"
        set BOOK_TEXT[4] = " Hunter's Journal Vol. 2|n
--------------------------------------------------
    |c00FFFFFFAfter trailing the beasts for
several days, I think we've finally
found their lair. It seems like their
den is further in this cave. There may
be more of them than we first thought,
but after seeing the strange columns
and pipes, there may be some sort of
    ruin here.

My Gran always said those places were
full of treasures just waiting for the
first person to find them. We've decided
to make camp and try to clear out the
animals and see if there is anything
    worth taking.|r

Here we have the first 4 books that will be used in SotP. This is a special trigger custom made by
-Kobas- for activating books in the game.

If you think you can write something like this, here's what you need to do:

1) SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE (by Slayer, YouTube it) - No noob English! If you have a great idea for a story but can't properly express it, find someone to do it for you.

2) Story dimensions - length shouldn't exceed 15-18 lines and width shouldn't cross the dashed line (the one that looks like this -----). Use the example above to get a clue of what I mentioned here.

3) (Sector,) No limits! - You are not limited in anything except for the text width; as for the length, if it's bigger than 18 lines, make more volumes under the same title (just like the "Hunter's Journal" in the example above).

4) Unconstrained genre - Feel free to write about absolutely anything! Does not have to be related to anything about SotP, although refrain from mentioning known RL people. Books can be written in any form as well: diary, play, logbook, novel, poem, etc...

5) Copy and paste - Everything you write *MUST* be in exactly the same form as the example above. That means it has to be in Jass form, so feel free to copy it and only edit the title and the actual story; everything else stays the way it is!

And that's about it. I think -Kobas- will have more details about all this if you need them.

Oh yeah, one last thing: please don't spam -Kobas-'s wall or inbox with questions or suggestions related to this; everything about books should be posted here, as well as all the actual books you may write.

Lastly, a treat as an encouragement for you guys: if -Kobas- approves your writings, you get +rep from him and (maybe) me as well as the appropriate author's credits which will be mentioned in the game!

So, unleash your inner writer and give your keyboard a run for its money!
