After quick review of references and images ill approve this as it may be useful in some states.
Blizzard needs to be added to author and i honestly dont see much of a difference from the reference photo towards the icon itself. Did you do any freehand towards this at all?
I did that commission quite some time ago.
EDIT 1 : Will do some changes to distinct the Crow and tome from the art a bit.
EDIT 2 : Added alternate version (Edited the Crow, Improved upon the outer glow and particles)

So did you just take it from the reference link and add the background towards it or was there more added towards this.

At most, I manually traced the raven form. In rest, i didn't use any other parts of the reference image.

I don't have the original, but to be clear I either start the work similar to how CrazyRussian showed in his guide (via a smudge tool) or with some general shape, then I go from there.
