Blender: Blender is free so its cheap and prolly most easy to use for people who begin to modeling (although in my opinion i prefer 3d studio max) anyway its a very good tool specialy since its free
Gmax: If im right this tool is also free and if you ever wana get 3d studio max i prefer using this tool first since its a limited version of 3d studio max.
So you it kinda depends on what you want i would prefer Gmax since blender isnt very good if you wana make models for wc3 anyway hope this helped a bit
From what I know, BlizzImporter only supports 3DS Max 5.
Use either Fadis Mounir's MDX Importer or KMK's MDX Importer/Exporterfor importing mdx models in gmax. You'll find them in the link I've previously posted.
