I have been playing for about 3 days now, but I have been primarily trying all of the classes out to see which one I liked the most - I decided on Blade Dancer.
However, I am wondering which server would be best for me as a North American player on PST time zone. Also, which faction should I choose on that particular server in order to have the best chance to join a guild on my time zone that does endgame content regularly?
Lastly, I have read some bad things about Blade Dancers not being beneficial to groups for endgame content, and I am wondering if I should choose a different class to be my main. I do like the Blade Dancer, but Assassin and KFM are a very close 2nd.
A: You'll find groups and endgame content easily, nobody shuts out a BD and I don't think that would ever happen to a jack of all trades class when our version of BnS requires little effort compared to past releases. Our gear is far ahead of where other regions were when they were at this point in the endgame, we don't require specific team compositions to clear anything and never will. Also, we're pretty good in PVP, the only class that doesn't get hard countered by any others (though I really hate fighting KFMs).
Tbh, BDs are underestimated in PVE.
Classic comparison: Destroyers can grab more often than us...Which doesn't matter much for most endgame bosses when they can only be cc'd and grabbed every 30-60 seconds...
BDs do more damage throughout a fight. Top 2-3 raw DPS in the game right now when you're skilled enough to work around boss mechanics and output optimally while dodging/iframing.
You can tank any boss out right now with a BD pretty easily without even taking bladeguard, actually you can do this with any class now that I think about it, it's just easier with BDs than it would be for other non-tank classes (KFM/BM are tank classes and Summs are an exception).
Oh destroyers have a neat little thing to get you safely revived! BDs have a neat little thing to prevent you from dying.. Oh and even if you do die, you can crawl super fast with Dongmoon Maelstrom! Sure it doesn't stack with BM HM Block.
I must sound like a salesman, but I gotta stand up for my class. Anyway, PLAY WHAT YOU FIND THE MOST FUN, ALL CLASSES ARE FINE AND USEFUL IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAY.
