Bionicle Metru Nui Matoran

Holy crap were the Metru Matoran designs hard to translate into Warcraft 3. I'm very satisfied though. I tried to adhere more to the spirit than the letter of the designs.

Includes 4 variations for different masks, all team coloured. Please credit. Edit as you will.

The wood, sack of gold and gutz are all changed too for full immersion. The only thing I haven't fully 'Bionicle-fied' is the death sound, I don't know which default one from the MPQ would be fitting, so they still just have the peasant death sound for now. I think a custom sound may be needed there.

I may do icons for these in the future but for now I'm too tired lol. Maybe when I get the energy to do that I'll also give them the Visorak treatment with action shots in the maps for the 6 Metrus.

optimizations: the model must completely disappear at the end of decay; calcualte extents; remove unused keframes. For all models. Review accepted by Footman16

Interesting edits of the peasant as the Bionicle Heroes from LEGO. Works in-game and looks good. I dont think they look a lot like the real ones but close. Lacks attachment points for mechanical, and portrait sequences. Review accepted by Footman16
The proportions are a little off for Motoran and I'm gonna be honest, the heads/faces are kind of nightmarish XD

BUT I appreciate the effort, and I hope you can improve them so we can get MOAR BIONICLE
I don't think they need improving. The proportions don't match Matoran exactly, you're right, but the Matoran design is so difficult to adapt into Warcraft 3 I didn't try to do a 1:1 translation. As for the heads and faces being kind of nightmarish, I'm happy to hear that. I think Bionicle is at its best when it's kind of eerie and alien. (Plus, you should've seen some of my WIPs if you think this is scary lmao)
I like the idea, I would love a Bionicle adventure/RPG map! Although tbh all the detail gets lost in these models and I don't think they read as Matoran at a glance. The proportions look pretty much the same as the vanilla peasant.
I used the Blood Elf peasant, and yeah, the proportions haven't changed a great deal but I don't have the skills to make something more from scratch. I at least tried to make parts of the arms and legs skinnier and the feet more blocky so they wouldn't look so much like organic people. I hear so much that the detail in my textures gets lost. I'm honestly past being concerned about it. That doesn't mean I won't try and make some more readable textures but I think it's just a natural part of my style, and I like the dense detail. Sure you might not see all of it but it being there gives the world some complexity IMO.

I'd also love a Bionicle adventure/RPG map, and I could see myself trying my hand at it for sure- but I've already got two ongoing big map projects so maybe not for a long while XD I know someone on the Hive made a Bionicle adventure map but it doesn't run on my Warcraft 3, and the map is protected so i can't open it :(

So thank you both for the feedback but I don't see myself making any changes to these models. However, if you would like to edit them, you can.

I've optimised the models, and they appear to decay properly in-game (though the bones don't completely finish dissolving into the ground before abruptly disappearing) and they past the sanity test, but I'm still getting warnings on this page. I'm pretty sure I've done what it says I should, too.

i dont think the site checker is bugged. re-check if you set the decay visibility to 0 for those geosets' geoset animation alphas

@AnyNameYouWish Metru Nui Matoran are mechanical robotic/cyborg beings but after inspection i dont see attachment points of type Sprite First Ref, Sprite Second Ref, Sprite Third Ref, Sprite Fourth Ref (for when burning/damaged). I'd prefer if you add these. Same for your other bundles of mechanical units.

I see your point, but wouldn't building fires look kinda big on these rather small units? I don't really think they need them. I'm fine with anyone else adding them though.
