I had a St. Bernardus Abt 12 quadrupel last night. 10.00% ABV and bottled 2012. Big fluffy white head with lots of sediment. Dark brown body. There's so much shit going on in this one. Smells of dark rum, fig reserve, typical belgian yeast products to a crazy degree, and slightly of those foam banana sweets. So many different levels to the taste here, it kinda hits you in waves.
Finally popped my Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout bottled around christmas 2011. They're generally pretty boring, but let it mature for about a year (plus) and you've got yourself one helluva stout. The dark chocolate/rasin tones and jet black body are so nice I wanna cry. D;
Last month's spoils: Black Tokyo Horizon (brewed by BrewDog / Nøgne Ø / Mikkeller), Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 4th Edition, Ballast Point Victory At Sea and Saison Brett from Boulevard's Smokestack Series. Pretty great stuff.
