I'm making some background screens (I don't know what they're called, the background models in like Battle.net and in the mission select screen), and I'm wondering if there is anything special about them or are they just like normal Warcraft models? I assume that I won't be able to have omni lights or anything in them, but are they for the most part the same as the .mdx models in the game?

Mmkay. Thank you.

I probably can't use a video in it can I? Like instead of having a model or putting a texture there, have a video playing?

You could have a video playing, but at huge space cost: you'd have to export the video frames as .tga, convert them to .blp and then make an animated texture with the frames and assign it to a plane, and make a camera looking at the plane. But as I said, the space occupied by each frame saved as a texture will be huge and the quality will suck, so it's not worth it.

Okay, well it's just easiest to do what we're planning on with a video. I'll play around and figure out what will work, thank you guys.
