B.net Chat?

Am I just crazy, or would an OUTSIDE of game chat/vision of friends list be badass?


I am liking the real id chat and see thing between WoW and Star2, but it would be nice if on the Battle.net screen, or even a seperate chat program, you could pop on and talk to people.


Am I just being retarded, or does that sound like a very plausible and awesome idea?

I've thought about this before and, yes, it would be very nice. One problem (or inconvenience) in Starcraft II is that I can't quickly go in and check if I have any friends online to play with. I need to wait 5 minutes in order for the program to load instead.

That would be a huge reason to have it.

I was hoping BN2 would implement something like this. For now I use Steam and add SC2 as a non-steam game. Perhaps they will eventually run BN similar to steam. Definitely a good idea.

Granted I'd still rather use steam since all my games can access chat.

But the tightness of the integration of the chat in WoW, and in Star2, is unmatched by steam.

They need that higher level of integration if they want to compete with a b.net that is smart...
