Anyone have some terraining tips or tricks?

I am making a map and i am a TERRIBLE terrainer. So far i have: House, tree, house, tree (Ect). Its dull (especial when you're in first person veiw >.>). So im wondering if anyone has some terraining tips or tricks?

add cliffs, mountains, height to certain spots of terrain, and doodads. thats all i can say. im a sucker for waterfalls :wink:

theres a tutorial on terraining in the tutorial forums. cant say its the best, but i learned a thing or two from it.

well, when you say terraining, what are you trying to make? an orderly city, natural chaotic kinds of terrain? different styles can be done differently. If you want to make a city, its usualy a good idea to make things symetrical and straight. If you are making like, random wilderness, I usualy like to start with grass, and make dirt and mud along traveled paths, placing different doodads on the different terrain types, like, place flowers along the grass and place rocks and pebbles in the mud. don't over do it with doodads either, too much makes it look congested.

add spaces in between houses. (reference: alleys) that will add a stealthy effect to your map.
