Anyone ever thought about re-making WCII using WCIII?

I Thought About It Once But It Would Take ages and lots of custom models, icons and other stuff would be needed.

It would take like 5 people....

Actually, almost all the models you need are right there in the game....for Warcraft II anyways. warcraft I is the one I think would be hard to do.

But Warcraft 2 Has Alot Of Different Things Compared to number 3.

Unit editor man. I already started work on the Orcs. I have everything down except for the boats and stuff.

just for one map right now just for testing. I modified the tech tree, found the old theme from warcraft II, the only bad thing will be the fact that I don't know how to add a third resource. For the orcs, everything is right there. Pig Farms, Ogres, etc. Same with the humans, but, there are some pit falls. One of them being I don't know how to model or skin or any of that. I know how to make maps and that is the extent of my knowledge.

i can skin and model But not very well........to an extent of be allright..
It's probaly not possable to add a 3rd resource but you could look around for tutorials or something.................if you would like i will try to model/ skin for you....

I Reskined The Drake And Did A Total recolour of the skin for a friend....
The Golem Needed to be red because green looks pretty bad......

I think the problem is with warcraft 2 having oil.

And I don't think it had food either...

Warcraft 2 2nd generation, a project that was in the works during the 2003-05, it had models(better then the ones in here, and no offense meant, it just was..) and they had an AI and recreated the spells..

the project has since been revived but most of the old models we're not recovered

anyway yeah, wc2 second gen was awesome. Blink Boy and Xaran Alamas (not really sure about Xaran though...I think Xaran is only with Dawn of Chaos? I forgot...) were a big part of it. It was hosted at The Hubb for a while.

I have just read the title not the discussion. I thought about it but I don't have warcraft II: A friend of mine told me about it.
Anyway do it, so that I can try it. I have even seen a warcraft II model for the two-headed orc in this site, (although you can use a normal ogre)

The only way you can add a third recourse is by using triggers or custom scripting.

I would consider looking into a mod called HOS. It takes place before warcraft 3 and seems promising. The forum hasn't been very active for over a year now, but the forum is filled with pics and info. Developers also say the project is being worked on, despite the lack of updates for over a year now.

Oh cool. lol. and yeah, there was food. You had to click on the pig farms/farms to find out what you had though. I got WCII for my PS1.
