I'm asking just to see if any of our members know why the French works so well with animation in general. Just recently watched Mune and Wakfu and Miraculous Ladybug and I realized they are really fluid and generally pleasing to watch. In a world where animated series are dominated by CalArts and several other artstyles, as well as beautiful animated movies, French animation is definately a great thing and I want to see them grow.

I think @pyf is? Curiously, there are not many french using the Hive. The more “popular” ones I've spotted throughout the years besides pyf were @Dark-Zalor, @Troll-Brain and @Vladadamm. But you've got many more people from Germany, Denmark, Australia, Serbia, Sweden and a loooot of people from The Philippines

I agree with you though; I watched a movie of TinTin recently, which I believe was animated by a French studio, and Lord, was it good. I was actually impressed; not an easy accomplishment nowadays :p

Not needed to be French people in general guys, just anyone knew about French animation and animation in general.

And yes, Tintin was my childhood and the movie was awesome. But isn't it made by Steven Speilberg?

There is a high interest in Art in France. It's part of the culture and thus of the educative system itself.
There are many highly respected animation schools here. This could explain why french animation has such an international reach.

Yeah I think so too. Many of the French stuffs are quite top notch, even though little in quanity and such.

Also, everyone, can you guys recommended for me some good French cartoons and animated movies?

My suggestions for animated movies (includes co-productions):
- Le Roi et l'Oiseau (The King an the Mockingbird)
- Princes et Princesses
- La Planète sauvage (Fantastic Planet)
- Les Triplettes de Belleville (The Triplets of Belleville)
- Persepolis
- Kirikou et la Sorcière (Kirikou and the Sorceress)
- Les Maîtres du Temps
- Valse avec Bachir (Waltz with Bashir)
- Logorama

yet their movies are at Uwe Boll level
Are you talking about Silent Hill?
