I'm not sure on alpha-ing with PSP 8. I can't get the hang of it and doing it properly, so I don't really recommend it :/

But, it may turn out ok if you:

1. Load up your skin. (must be 32bits .tga)
2. Go to load from alpha channel
3. Select alpha channel 1.
4. Your colour palette should've turned into greyscale. Select the pure solid black 0, 0, 0
5. Use the paint brush or spray and alpha out the part which needs to be removed.
6. Save to alpha channel 1. (no compression)

I do alpha-ing with PSP 7.

Why would you want to add more alpha channels?
That won't help you alpha anything.

You'd alpha'd out the area of the skin which needs to be alpha'd out once the alpha channels are shown.
Then you'd just select the pure 0, 0, 0 black and use the spray or paint brush to alpha the part out. Then save to alpha channel.
