I'll make the triggers if you want.
PS: It's posible to havea all 4 resorces. I can make a multibord that stores resorces and use the 2 blizzard resorce slots to display time and maybe age.

Leaderboard resources are really messy :(

I think it's easier to do this:

Gold: Mined from gold mines
Wood: Mined from trees

(so gold wood remain unchanged)

Stone: Stone is harvested from stone deposits. It uses the food used (so you can have infinite stone). When a worker deposits stone to a resource building, "food used" goes up, when it's used, food used goes down. Stone is only used for castles/walls anyway so it's not that important.

Food: Food is harvested from farms/dead animals. It uses food limit (so you can only have 300 food max). When food is harvested food max rises, when food is used, it goes down. Workers should cost 1-2 food, basic soldiers 3-4, heavier soldiers 5-20 food.

It's just that I've played a lot of "empire" TFT maps and ones that use the leaderboard for resources just aren't fun to manage. There are either too many resources, the ways of getting them are too weird, etc. players just give up out of boredom. Since there are only 4 resources I think this is cleaner and more user friendly.

ok i have a new idea i think at least i think i do here it is i want to introduce a entire new race to this game, The mighty, great, unique ROMANS!!!!!!!!! ok well these will be a VERY expensive race but can be mastered over time the unique unit will likely be a special unit like leginaries that are expensive to make but train extremely slow they will be extrememly powerful. ship dock for romans that attack as in real life the ship units are attacked by a numerous number of archers and acueducts will be added for some purpose

Monks can also convert and there are a few passive abilities (like fire arrows I think) and I think attacks can cause bleeding? Dunno, it's been a while. Oh and towers have attack based upon what's loaded inside.

convert can use simple trigger, change owner of the unit
fire arrow is nearly same with searing arrow
for towers, use as same as orc burrow, yes?

Yeah, just saying is all.

Though Orc Burrow may not be perfect, since each race can have 2-3 different ranged units which you'd want to put in a tower (not just archers, but archers, crossbows and skirmishers... which would require a more complex ability than orc burrow).

Couple of things... Food is extremely important resource in aoe and if your planning on pretty much copying it 300 food limit is nowhere near enough considering some age upgrades are 800/1000 odd alone, so use the leaderboard idea, or another one.

A random map/terrain system would be ideal for such a game if you can find/make one of a decent quality.

And the romans in aoe2? You mean the holy roman empire? I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure said empire didn't have legionaires, it didn't even control rome for most of it's life!

If you were doing the original aoe thats more the 'roman empire' time period ;)

But hey good luck on this map it would be great to see what someone can make of the aoe series on wc3 especially since no aoe4 seems to be coming anytime soon =)

I'd love to help. I can do unit data, and btw the game isn't that historically accurate, but if you want this map to be then I can help with that.

ty but i researched rome and rome would of never became what it was without its legions

AoE II is set directly after the fall of the Roman Empire (476BCE). So if you are going to make a faithful, historically accurate version of the game, you would not have Romans, but Byzantines (Romans who managed to avoid the collapse of the empire).

Sounds interesting though. I would happily test the map for you once it is done.

i believe you got mixed up there with the "romans"

what you meant was the Holy Roman Empire which was a VERY important entity in this time period. it can easilly get confusing because the Holy Roman Empire actually had NOTHING to do wiht the Romans.

it was actually a group of hundreds on mostly german governments.

some of the more powerful ones became "electorates" these "electorates" picked who would have the honour becoming the Holy Roman Emperor.

some of the most important nations in the empire were:
Venice,Austria,Prussia,Saxony,Brandenburg,Mainz,Palatinate,Bohemia,Bavaria,Munster,Burgundy (the list is truly endless, there were hundreds of principalities, duchies, counties, Free Imperial Cities, as well as other domains.)

so you see. there special unit should be a special type of crusader (the Holy Roman Empire had a Religious side that caused things to get a bit messy due to the pope and debate's over authority.)

still you should add this cause this empire is important
