Im thinking about making and RPG called, Kahashi Rusashi: The Dark Awakening, where Kahashi, The main character obviously, gets cursed by a mage for trying to break into a grand arena located to the south of his village and while hes trying to find a way to break the curse his village is destroyed and he loses all hope of breaking the curse because the mage is killed in the attack. Kahashi then awakens in a dark room and swears revenge on the person who destroyed his village. Then Kahashi travels with one of his friends to, well ill just call it the dark land for now cuz i dont have a name for it yet, and they meet up with 5 other people who were cursed by the mage that cursed Kahashi on there way and then they have to defeat the main villan. it would only be a 2 player because how big i want it to be and the story line kind of forces it to only be a 2 player but this is only an idea what do you guys think of it? if you dont like it then plz give me some ideas for a map I wont be mad I really value your guys' opinions, oh ya and triggers dont matter to me ill find a way to do it even if i dont know it before hand.

I am unsure if you meant this, but if you are planning on making it only 2 player I suggest that you make it optional and allow it to be 1 player. If someone doesn't have any real friends on battle.net and wants to play, he pretty much can't (assuming that you are making a fairly long rpg).

Hmm so ki you mean like make 2 different versions like ones a 2 player ones a one player that way the player can choose which way he wants to play if he wants to play with a friend or if he wants to play by himself and just kind of edit the story line a bit to make it suit a one player aswell?

Yes that would be a great idea, but if it isent possible you could do it with like teleportation pads? When you walk onto the pad at the starting town you get a Dialog shown with all the names of the diferent telepads which lies around the current map and you can choose whichever you want to go to. Then you could make it so they first become avialable when you have come to a certain place ofcourse, that would be done thru some triggers :)

a save system can save anything. you can save the exact location of the player if you want, although i wouldn't advise it.

all a save/load code system does is allow the player to input data (a save code) that the program translates into meaningful data, then output data (after encrypting it) that gives the player a save code.

the big problem is trying to figure out what exactly you want to save and load(player name, lvls, class, etc), and making an encryption system for it.

mainly because its going to be adding another 6-8 digits to your code, unless you are using a high compression technique, and its probably not going to be that important. if you just use inns, you can use 0-9,a-z,A-Z...that gives you 62 inns
