Advanced Power Armor Unit

After taking a break, I decided to make this: Advanced Power Armor!

Yep, also from Fallout, The Enclave sports this armor during the Fallout 2 timeline. I started this out today. I'm planning on recycling the animations from the T-51b unit, but tweaking them, since this armor is bulkier than the T-51b.

I colored the eyes just so you can see where they are.

looks okay, i would have liked it even more if it would have been your own design, but meh... looks a bit like a hawk

skin is still wip i guess, so i wont comment much, only that you should use more highlights and its still very rough!

well, just a thought...
if i would model this i would first make the basemesh and then model the armour on top of it, jsut to get proportions right...
but you can do that however you want...

Well, the armor itself is really bulky and has huge shoulderpads, if that's what confuses you.

Although not a bad idea!

you definatly need to fix the unwrapping of the boxes' side, but i'm sure you already planned that...
the shading is not smooth enough i think...

Pretty cool looking. The conjoined shoulderpads are a little weird, but if that's part of the character design, I guess it's alright.

Do you usually create one part of your model, then texture it, then make another part? I'm more used to creating the whole model and then texturing it completely, so that way I can get more of a sense of what I'm working on as I do it. Of course, it's up to you.

Usually, yes. It actually feels easier for me to do it this way, and I can preview how the texture will look, just in time for any needed fixes and such.

Looks good. Although the texture of sides on the square on his back looks extremely stretched.

It is stretched. I might make a black frame around the microfusion cell (the box) to remove the stretch.

i'M wondering how you get you uvw map right...
i mean, you dont even know how much space the booths, legs and arms will take up in your unwrap, still you are already setting up the torso's unwrap!

The texture needs some rust, but I guess you'll get to that.

I plan it on paper or in my mind how the wrap will look like. Then I make stuff and fit them as planned

The texture needs some rust, but I guess you'll get to that.

It's post-war armor, so you'll see a mix of rust and scratches.

Ok 1 question will this one have a weapon?(I am asking becouse your T-51b in fallout3 style has a plasma rifle)If yes what a weapon will it be?

I don't know. A Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle, perhaps?
