Add Hero Abilities Through Triggers

Hi, I want to add random Hero abilities to Heroes once they are summoned. I tried to use the "unit - add ability" but the Heroes only gain the abilities as unit abilities and not as Hero abilities which can be ranked up. Anyone knows how to do it properly? Thanks alot in advance!

It is impossible to add hero abilities to a unit using triggers. There may be extremely complex and hacky work around ways to do this however I would suggest using different mechanics than even trying them.

Thanks man, thats too bad. I know Ive seen maps where you can choose which hero abilities you want to give your Heroes but it may be very complicated as you say.

I think they used engineering upgrade ability to achieve that.

If every player only has 1 hero, you could try giving the heroes all the abilities and then disabling the ones you don't want him to have. I haven't tested this...it's just an idea.
