Add art to unit with doodad model file

Hey y'all!
I have a hero (unit) that actually uses the model file of a doodad. Things have been working fine, but I have discovered that art effects from buffs and similar do not appear on the unit. Does anyone know how to make these work? Or would it have to be something modified with the model itself?

Models need attachment points for those effects to work -> "origin", "chest", "head", "overhead", etc.

I assume most Doodads are missing these since they were never intended to receive buffs.

In other words, you have to edit the model in some modeling program and create the desired attachment points for it.
