acolytes mining from haunted gold mines and construction like humans

Ok, it's much simpler than I thought.
Here's what I did:
Go to object editor, look for acolyte, in abilities, erase "Gather gold (acolyte)" and add "Harvest Lumber and Gold".
And that's it!
Here, I attached a map with what I did.

You also could use the other way round:

> simply replace the model of the human worker?

Well, if you change the model, you'll have to change the animation. The way I said, the acolytes will have the original animation...


EDIT: So you want acolytes to harvest from haunted gold mines? I'm not sure how to do this, I don't think you can, since the harvest ability requires unhaunted, and the gather ability requires haunted...

This as far as I know is impossible. Its funny that something simple like this is beyond fixing.

Ill explain.

Setting the units race to Human makes the worker build human style.

However Haunted Gold Mines only work properly if the worker race is set to Undead.

Its hardcoded into the game, and I dont think there is a way to change that.
If you really must, you could use a an Acolyte with race as undead then give it an ability to transform into a dummy Acolyte with race as human when you need to build.

Its kinda tedious gameplaywise though.

Anyway, this is incredibly easy to do, despite what other people say =)
1. Change the race of the Acolyte to Human (based off of the original Acolyte)
2. ...
3. PROFIT

And that is it. If you feel like it, skip steps 2 and 3.

EDIT: Wait, the mining only works properly when the Acolyte is in the Undead race? Are you sure? I must check this.

EDIT: Well, just tested it, and what I thought would work did not work. My bad, stupid Warcraft 3 :p

I tried understanding, seemingly I didn't. But yeah, I did read.
 
as far as I know, this cannot be done in the OE... but maybe you can do triggers for it...

When the undead acolyte (A) is issued a build order, change it into an acolyte of the human race (B) then order B build the building...

then if B was issued an order to mine, change it to A and reorder it to mine...

Note: this is not tested...

anyway, if it works, it will look really bad since the acolyte's animation doesn't fit on the human method of building...
 
hmmm... there's no build orders on the trigger editor? then what do you call this:

Events:
  • Events
    • Unit - A Unit begins construction
    • Unit - A Unit cancels construction
    • Unit - A Unit finishes construction
Actions to Build and mine:
(all are under the Units actions tab)
  • Actions
    • Actions
      • Unit - Order Unit To Build a Barracks at the Point
      • Unit - Order Unit To Harvest Mine
seriously, try to search better next time... I found all these in less than one minute...

that is for buildings being constructed. there isnt any for the units construction buildings. the construction isnt the problem though. gathering gold is. that script wont help because it will still trigger the error message.(cant use haunted gold mine. or something like that.) the problem remains unsolved. please help.
