A Windows 7 problem

Hello, I have a weird irritating problem now that I have Windows 7. When I'm installing certain programs which require a reboot before the installation, I reboot it and then try to install the program again, but it again asks me to reboot. He didn't "remember" that I already rebooted it.

How do I fix this?

Please give an example of such an application.

The closest I know is something like kaspersky internet security and that installed flawlessly on W7.

It didn't let me continue. It didn't install anything after the reboot.

I do not trust Daemon tools... It destroyed one of my PCs.

Try disabling account seurity or running as an admin.

But I uninstalled it afterwards, because I realized that another freeware software has the same possibilities (and because you said that it destroyed one of your PCs).

I have to get used to that whole "run as administrator" thing, I always forget about that.

I do not trust Daemon tools... It destroyed one of my PCs.

Try disabling account seurity or running as an admin.

It works fine for me on 6 different PCs.


Anyway, Silvenon, most installers run as administrator anyway, so no need to remember anything.

One of the "free toolbars" it likes to install with is a trojen that binds to your OS (XP atleast). Basically unless you are carefull when installing it can mess your PC up.

Just felt like noting that certain programs require multiple reboots in order to install, just 'cause it installs in waves, needing to create/alter/use system files in order to proceed with the installation, which will require to access new system files. Though yeah, administrator privileges is needed almost for everything.. Should be easier to make everything you run yourself as administrator, rather than having to right-click, and sometimes even go through advanced properties - Ubuntu (Linux) "sudo" ftw?
