Most skeletons are not scary... They represent the remains of life that once existed and pose no threat to life that currently exists.
The only time a skeleton can be scary is when a layer of abstraction of thought is applied as to why the skeleton has ended up in its current position. Some like a medical dummy were people who specifically donated their remains to science in a written statement before they died so are hardly any reason to worry. Others like fresh skeletons found in a cave or buried in a garden signify some form of execution being taken place, either natural or artificial in which case there is a good reason to be worried as the cause might still be an active threat. As a matter of principle if a skeleton is over 80 years old it is generally of no concern as whatever placed it in its resting sport will mostly be dead so poses no threat to you.
