As a point of minor interest, I was wondering if threads have an expiration limit where they would get automatically deleted if left unanswered for too long.

that is possible but most forums dont do that unless the thread is holding data like a picture which takes up the forums space.

No, we don't have a system that does that, but I have a system that can do it but I don't want it to do it automatically

Just please do not be a thread necromancer. I have seen some who are doing that recently and it is rather annoying. I am glad they are posting and trying to make conversation with us, but there is a reason a thread "dies" after a certain amount has been said about it.
