this isn't even one of my maps, but it bothers me nonetheless. Why is it that in some maps, most commonly Resident Evil maps, and a certain Vietnam map, at the very beginning everyone besides the host gets dropped in game within the first 20 seconds? Anyone know how to fix it?

One you get into the game, there really isn't an important distinction between "host" and any other player.

It's possible the map is server-splitting the players each into their own games. Some things can cause server splits. Do some research. There's more about it on wc3campaigns.

Well

If everyone else drops, the host has no doubt restarted his computer. The other people, when they click disconnect will get dropped as well. Some maps have the game linked to the host, so that map no doubt does.

as far as i know thats not entirely correct (though i may be wrong) unless everyone is desync'd host ownership will transfer to someone else (how it chooses i dunno) in the case the host is dropped/screwed up/leaves BUT if the new host is behind a firewall or something noone will be able to continue the game and it will just put up the 'waiting for host' thing and disconnect everyone eventually

nope that isn't it. Because I'm the one hosting them, so it isn't that the host has dropped. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME I host it. Sometimes it's as soon as the game starts and I realize that nobody's there, and other times it's within the first 10 seconds or so. maybe it's that server split thing though... thanks.
