Storyline

In the northern lands, long-forgotten by the Imperium - home to many of its exiled guard and settlers, a terrifying army of living-dead has been released upon the populace. Their origins are unknown, and they only resemble death and the spread of evil. One thing is for certain, the northerners must repel this undead invasion, or they will forever become a part of it.


Gameplay

Snowlands resembles a classical 4v4 real-time-strategy map, where the northern four players have control of the exiled northerners, and the southern four players have control of the gloom incarnate. Their forces are similar, but each race has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Strategies

The northerners start off with small settlements, each guarded with a Defense Tower to repel early invasions. Their forces are relatively strong, but need upgrades to make them particularly effective against buildings, or magic-casters.
The gloom start off with more workers, soldiers, but nothing but their base's attack to protect them from invaders. Their units are more expensive, and take more time to train - although they are much more powerful and don't need quite as much research to be effective.

Looks cool, and nice background story ^^

Will it feature AI?

The initial release (beta) won't.
After that... it all depends on the time I have at my disposal.

Snow on the trees and not the ground? :S

Figuratively speaking, the terrain isn't finished, and the snow tile is mostly implied in this situation, as I don't like to use it as much as the others; you'll probably see it used some in the actual release, though.
