3D Studio Max 4.2 with Blizzard Art Tools

OMG I have been working for 2 days and am about to give up.
I have 3ds Studio 4 with the Blizzard tools.
I cannot get a model after exported from it to work at all!!!!
I cant even get the sample ones that blizzard provided to export and work???


Heres what I did

Step 1:
I downloaded the SkeletonFireWariorMage model from this website.
Loaded it in 3ds max
I didnt touch anything after it loaded.
Step 2.
I went to File>Export> Export to MDX
Step 3.
Imported file to War3 Editor using default custom paths.
Step 4. Reloaded the map


and then nothing... I get a mdl load error



I CAN get the model to work if I import it normally without loading and exporting through my 3ds program.

I have also tried exporting the Sample Peon that comes with the blizzard art tools and had the same problem.

Has anyone used 3ds max 4.2 or 5 and has had any luck?

I even tried creating a simple sphere with 1 material and exported it to mdx.

Yours was the first model on the list that I knew was solidy written so I grabbed it. It said that it was tried and tested so I used it for an experiment.
By the way, great work dude. seriously, the particle emitters are awesome.


Nonetheless I fixed my problem.....

when I import my model in the world editor it has a default import path of
war3mapimport\xxxx.mdx

I had to remove the war3mapimport and it seems to work now.... i'm not sure what or where the path of a model and its texture are defined in 3ds max.

Also, when doing animations, where do you choose or select Stand, Death, Walking, Attack?

War3Viewer Exports Models in MDX format.........
The 3DS Max Blizz Import Script requires MDL ??????
Does anyone know why the hell it was written like that? Do I have to conver to mdl first?
