This is a map I'm working on. I want first to try some new gameplay features that I plan to implement in my campaign. There are no drops as of yet, and no custom features have been implemented; still I'd be happy to get some criticism on the layout. Terrain isn't finished as well - almost no doodads have been added, and there will be more texture/height variation.
Layout:
Map is divided into North/Centre/Middle, all parts are separated by rivers and connected with 4 landbridges. Starting goldmines have only 7,5k gold, expansions have 30k each, but are extremely close to each other (separated only by a small forest).
Two waygates for boats that lead almost directly to the opponent's base. Two connect a zeppelin-only red camps to the rest of the map.
Map is extremely small, and is focused on blitzkrieging and rushing. Whoever manages to get an expansion first will usually be the winner.
Future concepts:
Whoever mines the expansions will actually share 40% of the resources mined with his opponent, which I believe will add a nice touch to the gameplay (since central expansions are overpowered and will allow for quick amassing of resources while the rival is unable to efficiently move around the map or take over the expansions).
New creeps planned. New mercenary system - as long as your hero carries a battlestandard, you will be able to train special units at a mercenary camp. Battlestandard drops on death, and slows movement speed.
Sappers will be unable to move on water.
Big blight area will be something of an "undead" base, with 3 buildings and 5 towers (but not actual undead melee buildings). During night, creeps from that base will attack the nearby base, unless the buildings have been razed.
