- Deleted some unnecessary polys/vertices
- Added main icon
- TC no longer unshaded
2020-04-04
- Added Purist version
- Rewrapped main mesh texture
- Changed entrances texture
- Tweaked bones size, position and texture wrap
- TC triangles now part of mesh
- Moved whole model a bit to the right so it's better centered in selection circle
A creative and well made recreation of a wc1 building.
Great details and excellent use of in-game textures.
A bit too high on polygons though.
Works in-game and performs well.
Good job.
Rewrapped the texture, what do you think? I can't decide if it's better or worse
I left the old screenshot up for now for comparison.
@deepstrasz any suggestions to make it more like the original? (still gonna add a "purist" version later, rotated and without the axe/shield things)
I was thinking of replacing the entrance texture with something lighter, but decided not to. What do you think?

Well, the original is rotated with its exit to the left, diagonally. It looks more like a sort of Stonehenge and has some red markings (which could be some sort of windows?). Warcraft original lore | HIVE
There you have the manual to see the buildings bigger although in black and white.
Yeah I will rotate it more like that for the purist version. The red markings are there already though, maybe they're too small?
Thanks for those pdfs! It has a drawbridge in there ^^
I may tweak the bones things a bit, I'll see.
hm.. i feel that in wrapping that roof, you're not really thinking of the proper shapes that the building is having. for an example, the roof in the icon clearly shows that its made out of many curved triangle-like pieces that are sewn together. with details put on top. so.. if you start wrapping the biggest piece of that texture to a triangle-ish cut of the roof, and then multiplying that piece, you might have more luck in making it much nicer than this
it is always good to split pieces, because you can always snap them together later. just don't weld them xD that never turns out good.
Lookin nice, but i agree, the texture looks bad, i'm pretty sure i've seen a remake of that building some years ago with ingame textures with a better wrapping, but yours is a purist version so i think that model couldnt be of any help
