Hello! I've downloaded the model, did some testing and I can offer my review: Poly count is through the roof The optimized version should be uploaded as default and hq as optional The model works well ingame. I will set it as Approved (Useful/simple)

It's not the author's fault, it's Blizzard's fault

If you give this rating, does that mean you give it to the authors from Blizzard?

This model is the lowest polygon version, the author chose the lowest version of the others that were in the Diablo 2 files, but you still claim that it's too much

Just because an original model is high poly does not mean it is appropriate for Wc3 with said high poly count, this is part of the process of porting models, that is, making them appropriate and fitting for the game they are being ported too.

If you have an issue with a moderation then your best bet is to probably message the moderator or staff in private to discuss whatever issues you perceive or have :)

But when someone ports --- the model is initially some kind of

The one who ports, only does everything that is possible just to do it, and not to re-sculpt the mesh so that it becomes simpler.
Оr better yet, it's worth asking: How to make it low? Hardly anyone knows, except for those who create models from scratch, so this can't be a requirement for rip models

There are multiple ways, for one: unnecessary pieces of mesh can be deleted, it's been a while so I may be mistaken but blender used to have the ability to select pieces of mesh and simplify.

The bottom line is that for models to be ported they require work to be done to optimise them for Warcraft 3 to avoid potential issues. Whilst the filesize limit has been increased it still exists and therefore filesize optimisation is another area that is required. When users come to the Hive and download a model whether a port or otherwise they should be able to do so confident that the model works and is to a certain standard or quality.

Just because only some people know how to perform these optimisations is not an argument against it and indeed Navy has on multiple occasions offered to show others how to do these optimisations. All can contribute but those contributions must comply with our standards. If you have issues with the rules or standards we're always open to discussing them but that should be done in the appropriate forum not in the comments section of a random model ;)

@Kaizer123

I haven't deleted the post or used Approved (Lacking) option that hides the model from showing by default in the list
The model is already Approved (Useful/simple) which makes this post appear by default in the list where everyone can see it and use it - so I didn't punish the author in any way for the work he put in

The author can improve the model, animations, textures, team color etc. should he desire to do so, since the model is already approved, nothing is required, it's his choice only

Diablo 2 is an old game so the models are pretty basic and don't have all the functions like Warcraft 3 models or WoW models do.

This is a conversation that the author and me can have anytime he wants, If he feels I didn't give enough attention into reviewing

So whatever you are trying to stir up here, it's just baseless and pointless and you were already directed that such matters should be addressed to the staff and not here, so leave the space for people who want to make comments about the model. Thanks.
