hmm... there are several things to consider here. Keyboard events have a delay to them, so movement will be really unresponsive. Next thing is air control when jumping. Then there's wall-grabbing, which would be interesting to code but potentially a nightmare :P
I guess something could potentially be done with abilities, but keyboard presses have the advantage of detecting pressing, holding and release. Abilities can only be pressed.
Hard to say. Warcraft 3 was never really a good engine for platformers.
hm.. i'm not sure about that platformer.. its angle of view is above, and all of its mechanics seem to be adjusted to that plane.. i want legit movement left and right and up, with the camera being parallel with the ground
as for wall grabbing, i'd replace it with hovering, as my model has a whole second animset for that
well anyway, sure, i want a system, but i'm not really going to demand it so.. feel free to just chat up a storm
Haha, I may be taken with something else though. Platformers are great and all, but I'm not convinced wc3 is the medium to do it in. Maybe something like Unity or Unreal Engine?
I say this mostly due to the unresponsiveness of keyboard events.
