Basically I want to make a map like azeroth wars
    ----------
I am almost crying right now. Azeroth Wars was made over the years. That map is crazily complicated, I love it like many do. But I don't want you to risk 5 hours every day for the next few months trying to make your first map on a scale like Azeroth Wars D:

Start with something simple. Like make a few custom units and make a nice small map to play on.

-Practice terrain and doodad placement, look at blizzard maps for inspiration
-Experiment with everything else, nothing will harm you
Depends on your effort and how much times do you spend for your project. But some RPG mechanisms need quite advanced triggering skill. So probably you will need more times to learn them first. And it's not easy to develop great maps.

Better start with simple melee maps while learning about triggering advanced maps.

    Regards,
    Hello there :)

Learning Wc3 World Editor takes years, but learning Sc2 will be more than that. So I suggest Wc3 World Editor is your best start. But it also depends on which field do you want to go in. Is it triggering, modeling, texturing, or map making?

For map making, triggering is your basic knowledge. You don't need to code very effectively. But if you go deep into triggering, which it's my field, you will learn how to code as efficient as possible. You will also learn several other coding languages: GUI, Jass, vJass, cJass, Zinc, Wurst (new). But you don't need to learn them all. GUI is your start point, then you can go on the Jass. Then you go to more advanced language, you can choose between vJass, cJass, or Wurst. I don't know much about Zinc. Not only that, you will also learn how to code advanced systems that great maps often use by yourself.

Yeah, triggering has the best relation to map making. But that doesn't mean other fields are less important. If you are advanced modeler, you can make astonishing maps with high quality visual, which many people would rather to be interested in it these days. But to go on modeling, skinning or texturing is your basic knowledge. I can't tell much about modeling.

Well, we need more coder here actually, that's why I advertize it  But it's totally up to you, up to your interest.

    Anyway enjoy your stay here...

    Regards,
