Why thank you. It was done for several reasons.

1: In the Reign of Chaos, all spell casters had piercing attacks until this was swapped into magic attacks. I wanted the spell-casters to feel that they can be both powerful against and not against spell immunity units.

2: I wanted spell casters to be more versatile and this one serves the opposite as of the priest. Priest replenishes health and this guy replenishes mana.
