High Elves AoW new Techtree
The new reworked techtree of the high elves, with numerous changes and adjustments.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of aerial unit. Why player can train Dragonhawk Lancer, but Dragonhawk Rider can be gained only via mounting system? The bird is the same. It's illogical.
Either you train both Rider and Lancer in a hatchery or you gain both of them via mounting system.
The latter means that T1 melee and T1 ranged units should have an ability to ride which is pretty interesting from my PoV.
There is another, conceptual problem in this situation - you see, every race in core game have different mounts for their units. For example, it's not like orcs have wyverns for all - yes, they have Wind Riders, but also Bat Riders. So, in perfect world, there should be another flying creature in elven techtree alongside dragonhawks.

Hey there,

sadly, aside from dragonhawks, blood elves have nothing else to mount. Phoenixes are unfortunately rather rare to breed and to be mounted, as stated here. To make it logical, I have enabled dragonhawks to be created and mounted in Tier 2, and Dragonhawk Lancers to be created in Tier 3. So, logically, you have already researched the taming of the dragonhawks.

I'd say it's debatable.
I believe you wanna save phoenixes for blood elves. Understandable (though there's pretty nice concept of phoenix rider from HS), but even in this case high elves still have other variants. Mana Wyrms or RPG Giant Eagles, for example.

I have seen these mana wyrms, and they were introduced in Dragonflight. It’s a bit of a retcon, but we can include them as mounts for both blood elves and high elves. The blood elves would use them, supported by this quote: "When the Sunreaver Onslaught journeyed to the Dawnseeker Promontory on the Isle of Thunder, they brought mana wyrms with them. Though small in size, the wyrms had the ability to cripple the Kirin Tor Offensive casters in combat, and many learned the hard way not to underestimate them."
If we consider the retcon introduced in Dragonflight, we can assume that larger mana wyrms also existed, especially after the restoration of the Sunwell.
The phoenixes will remain as summoned units. The elite unit, the Phoenix Guardian, of the blood elves will be able to summon them. Which is why we won’t have them as trainable units from the aviary.
