Pokemon is always turn based lol... At least try it once before complaining!...

You are right.
I did try it.
I am not saying that it's not good, it is just that it will affect only turn-based games fans. ( Or maybe not only)
Anyway , when ever i can i would like ( and when im actually avaiable cause im in mid exams) to test, but i don't think that i will play a turn-based game.
:D
Btw your pokemon map look like having some good systems.....But it's out of my standars.

I would appreciate any testing and if any bugs are found it would be nice to report them.

Dont forget -save to save so you don't need to restart every time ;p (unless you want to).

90% of pokemon projects are dommed from the beginning.

that looks amazing. any way this is going to be multiplayer, like several trainers beginning in pallet town and having a tournament after an hour?

So about your problem...me i am also a noob terrainer...so i read tutorials.....try new things........search for some legendary terrains.....get some tips.......then i reach the level of a good terrainer.. what i mean is...

Learn to terrain by yourself...just ask some suggestions......its better to teach yourself and you will be an advance terrainer someday..

@ neo_sluf: I appreciate your concern, but I would really hope to find a good terraining partner, he doesn't need to be amazing, I am sure there is a terrainer Pokemon fan out there somewhere :eek:!...

Also, I help people a lot with triggers so hopefully someone will help me back with terraining someday.

So ok....before someone do your terrain....you must first find some Anime TerrainArt...so probably you can create your Map Template for your map...and you can suggest to help in adding doodads....also you can send me the unprotected version of your map and i will see what i can do with the terrain...

but i just clarrify......i just improve your terrain right?.....but not change just some beautification?...you can send me the map right now so i can see what i can do..

:thumbs_up: Even tho there is a small path to walk at, I can tell from now this game has much in it The Game is HIGHLY RECOMMANDED and to all those who didn't try it yet: you should try it since you are missing out a GREAT ADVANTURE :thumbs_up:
Don't stop please, I will be there to give 4/5 when the official map comes out (the last +1 if you can amaze me for a second time).

Have you ever played the korean pokemon ORPG? It's awesome! The only problem is that ehh its korean lang.
You should do a map similar to the pokemon orpg, where all the players start and can save and load(no singleplayer, multiplayer only) and can battle each others on arena whenever they want. Put gyms, everything and so on.. I am sure it would make a great success on the bnet, i would play a lot if it is well done. Note that i'm not saying to copy pokemon orpg, but make a game on the same style, but with your own original stuff, so the western crowd of warcraft would have a pokemon rpg as nice as the eastern one.

lol i was just asking because the guy could use the game as a model
imo campaign single player sucks, i'd rather play the gba games on emulator
the point on being a w3 map would be the multiplayer thing, being able to play with many friends together.
i just gave it a try to the map posted, its really nice and it seems to have the same models that pokemon ORPG has(for both pokemons, trainers and buildings) so i think the creator already played the pokemon korean orpg
hope he changes his mind and do a game like it, with multiplayer campaign and so on..

I couldnt figure how to use the save, i say -save, the game says it saved and then what? on the next host i have the same pokemons?

Well, if you're still looking for a terrainer, I could give it a go. I'm decent, I suppose.


After some testing (love the game so far by the way), I've found some things that require tweaking;
-The unit sizes are ridiculous on the people. Needs to be reduced a tad.
-The Nidorans should labeled as NidoranF and NidoranM, they're both just Nidoran.
-When your pokemon faints, it automatically switches to the next in line.
-When you hit a move after you win a battle, that move is queued up and as soon you enter another battle you and your opponent make their moves.
-Super Effective damage is doing WAY over what it should for Special moves. For example, My Squirtle has 18 Sp. Atk, and Bubble is 20% of that, which is 3.6. I use bubble on Sandshrew, and it deals 14 damage. Why? Well, super effective damage is doing double what it should (7.2 x 2 = 14.4, rounded down is 14), PLUS it isn't factoring in special defense.
-Trainers that you battle disappear, regardless of whether or not you beat them. However, they come right back upon reloading. I recommend keeping the last part because of how useful it could be for grinding.
-The experience and level up messages are delayed and show up after the battle ends, when you've already seen that this has happened, making them a little redundant. Maybe have them show up when it happens?
-Remove the 3 base health all Pokemon have, and add 3 base vitality. It needs to be changed as such because the Vitality status bar doesn't count base health, and misses out on that 3 HP.
-Leer's effect is double that of what it was in the games. Intentional?
-You don't get any gold from Trainer battles.

Its looking awesome but I think that when he said "terrainair" he mean a person who modeling a new terrain then import it, or did I get it wrong? :ogre_haosis:

Uh, no. He meant someone to actually terrain the whole map as such. Have you seen the current map? It's pretty bare-bones, if you catch my drift.

I am a beta tester who was requested to test the map 2 months ago. I havent heared from the map maker ever since, is he even reading what we write?

Well, we might as well hope he comes back. He was answering questions just a few days ago! BTW, uploading another picture in a minute.

Please make the map multiplayer, not only another map with multiplayer..
i mean, the whole campaign being multiplayer, like any other rpg.. playing the campaign in single is REALLY boring for any game and i'm sure your project would be a great success at bnet if it's a multiplayer RPG

Hi everyone,

First of all I would like to say that I am sorry that I wasn't able to get on more often, to be brief, I was recovering from cancer...

I am now much better and have started working on my maps again :)

Thank you all for working on the terrain, it looks beautiful, I would very much appreciate it if we could work together to finish this project!!!

Also, I was thinking of scratching this project and doing the multiplayer version instead, with help it could be done fast and I can make all the triggers if someone can terrain.

Just 1 thing.
Somewhere in features I saw Random Generated Battle Maps or smthng like that.
I don't think that when you fight with a pokeporn you get a random "battlefield"??
Because if u fight on land and the battlefield is at sea then:eekani:

That's not exactly how it works hehe, it just places a new ground and new trees every time, in a semi-random way (it chooses the ground you are standing on when you get in battle, and picks trees from around that location).

So that it gives a better feel than just grinding the exact same spot every time :).

Here is an unprotected version since it seems some people are having issues with the protected one.

Are you also counting the 50% STAB bonus?

I was unsure about what I wanted to do here, if you may fight them again and again or if they just dissapear forever.

I added that so that you could see how the exp was distributed amongst your Pokemon, since if you have 2 Pokemon battle an opponent they will share the experience.

I haven't worked much on the AI interactions yet.

I have decided, to increase difficulty, that buffs will not be removed until the battle is ended.

That can be fixed, I just create the item at start (or not) via trigger: if "itemfromthismap#1 was taken = false" or whatever in the saved hashtable.


I do realize it needs a lot of work, and I'd be happy to terrain for you if possible. And if you choose a different terrainer, I'd love to beta test for you. Or perhaps both!

I would love your help, you seem very detail oriented and thorough.

tmmpiratatmm I was thinking of doing that (I haven't played the korean version though). All those models were given to me by fellow Pokemon fans who found them online :).
