Hey can someone elaborate on just the general idea where building sprites are located?

Ex. I was going to merge two buildings with attachment points (Halls of Dead X Slaughterhouse) and I wanted slaughterhouse top only to be midway through the HoD instead of head or overhead. Thanks!
