Hwatt, no. Nothing is normal if you consider the theme.

It's not bad because I can still tell this is a facelessone species. At least he didn't off the theme entirely, although a little contrast maybe helpful. I like the ...yellow "fins?" part of the face make a nice contrast to the face. :psmile:

i based them of cephalopod and crustaceans, only the face and the arm had the cephalopod inspiration while the rest of it is im trying to do crab but with original colors on a faceless one anatomy, so that's why the squid part had that contrast while the crab parts didnt, but after this i might give bright colors or something squid related to any sharp parts

now i think about it my search for crabs as reference is limited and now i just found out contrasting colors crab, i will make an update after this

Looks pretty cool actually. Maybe I'd try differentiating stuff more, like the weapon not to look like part of the body and maybe the loincloth to be some other colour, the eyes more orange rather than the same as the membranes between the tentacles. Things like that.

Really like the idea and would love to see further exploration!

The thing I have a problem with is the low contrast and small detailed TC = making it harder to read, even though it's cleanly painted.

Once you make the TC larger and more readable, I will adjust my rating.

One minor suggestion is to differentiate the cloth piece from the body + suggest how it is attached. Looks a bit weird now.

Good luck! Will be awaiting your further work ^^
