I like how you used touches of blue in the dark shaded areas. If I would update this icon in an alternative universe, I would change the background a little bit, giving it a slightly different hue than the phoenix itself. Cause right now it's the same red/orange tone so it can be difficult to read what's going on at the icon. I like the fluid lines and the minimalistic feel of it though, good work!
