Apparently, it desperately needs sharper shading and highlights in order to define it more. Outlines do their job, but you can't put cheese on a pizza if you lack the actual pizza.
stonneash, this applies for all of your works. You have to learn to produce shading and highlights of better quality.
Try using harsh brushes with sharp edges for this, aswell as different opacitiy levels.
Don't just go wild with extremely soft ones or airbrushes. They are meant to create the basic shading/highlights at best.

He displays one of the best techniques to produce crisp icons.
