I wouldn't use a full color background, id put some black in areas but that's just me. Nice!

Yeah I always have the black corners, but didn't bother to look twice and notice the background almost full colored.

CR, you should just get dc'ed as person for being so good at creating/drawing.. 
Love the icon, but the 'shaft' where youre supposed to hold
that thing is for me a little boring.
Could maybe use a little closeby glowing.
