Absolutely nasty what you did to an elf, great job!
Obviously it's useful, for example this model can add some great immersion to Scourge Invasion of Silvermoon or any similar events.
Technical comments on model are same as for your zombie...

Technical comments on model are same as for your zombie footman, it's just good, no issues spotted.
Icon is good enough visually and definitely serves it's purpose, if you want, try getting an screenshot with more shadows, for a more Reforged-like icon, but it is not mandatory.
There are simple tricks on how to make decent icons without being able to draw with a tablet.
Such as adding material overlays for skin, hair, metals etc. all doable with a mouse.
Also adding even mouse drawn highlights (just white-ish lines on edges where light would shine as well as nose or other sticking out parts) does GREATLY improve the appearance of a character icon (see my attempt below).
