Hello everyone. I was wondering what your thoughts are on using XNA ( since it seems to be dead ). I have also heard about Monogame and i think Slimdx.
What ones would you recommend for a windows desktop game with C# on visual studio 2013 ? Any help is appreciated as I want to start learning game development a little more but I'm not sure which one I should branch out to and use.

Monogames is like XNA but still being updated?
Well last I used XNA, it still worked perfectly fine for games, so it should probably fit your needs.

But since Monogames more or less is XNA++, why not go for it while reading XNA tutorials etc?

Ooo ok thanks. I think I will learn the basics of XNA then think about switching to Monogames. Thanks for your input. +rep if I can.
