X-Men Re-Faction
This map is based mostly off of X-Men Legends, but I'm bringing back elements of X-Men Eternity, (Sentinels and Nimrod...though not active yet). It is a 3v3v3 for now since its a new map (and until I get a re-spawn system working). I've made it so the blink dagger doesn't allow you to exploit the terrain early-on in the game, (through looong hours of re-leveling and testing). I'm trying to turn it into a tactical ambushing PvP map, that works best with teamwork. My vision is to make this as accurate to the comics, (as possible), without making any of the heroes too OP at the beginning, (cuz you're supposed to be op at the end...). Also, I'm tweaking a knockback system that registers not only with specific spells, but also regular critical strikes, (cuz you know knocking a person back is a common event in the comics).

Mutants Created Myself:
Bishop,
Mastermind,
(working on) Mimic,
(Beginning to work on) Sauron.

Mutants Imported from Past Maps:
Moonstar,
Prof. X,
and Rachel Grey.
(Cable has his virus/anti-virus again)

Removed from user-control: (Because they were waaaay too rigged)
Proteus,
Shaman,
Lady Mastermind,
and Sage (until she's been rethought)

New Bosses:
Lady Mastermind
Shaman
(Imported) Viper
(Fixing) Sebastian Shaw
(Fixing) The Cucoos
(Going to make soon) The Wendigo
(Going to make soon) The Mutant Island Krakoa
Onslaught is now The High Evolutionary. (Because it didn't make any sense to be able to use Magneto and not Prof.X...since the two of them are Onslaught)

I hope to be able to get skins/mods for ALL units, but that is the least of my worries at the moment...I'll collect them as I go along. I'm trying to get all of the spells and triggers working correctly first...and then add more spells and triggers. So if there are any X-Men fans out there, please give me some feedback on my progress so far. (And help is always appreciated!! Anyone who helps will get visible credit within the map in some way or another.)

Think the idea is great and i would like to see a good x-men map in wc3!!:ogre_haosis: Perhaps you could give ideas of which characters will be playable and tell us some facts on how the game will work (features, teams, gameplay etc.) :goblin_yeah:

Playable Heros (in no particular order except the originals)
Prof. X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, (Arch)Angel, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Wolverine, Psylocke, Jubilee, Banshee, Storm, Nightcrawler, Bishop, Rachel Summers, Cable, Domino, Wolfsbane, Multiple Man, Longshot, Magma, Magik, Colossus, Dazzler, Marrow, Washout, Emma Frost, Deadpool, and Silver Fox. (Also thinking of adding Random, Rictor, Havok, and Polaris)

Playable Villains
Magneto, Toad, Quicksilver, The Scarlet Witch, Mimic, Mastermind, Juggernaut, The Blob, Sabertooth, Omega Red, Pyro, Avalanche, (still working on)Dr. Karl Lykos(Sauron), Moonstar, and The Silver Samurai. (Want to add Black Tom Cassidy and Stryfe)

For the teams, since it's called Re-Faction, I'm going to have triggers that re-name the teams depending on which mutants are picked, (like in X-men Legends 2), and will give a slight bonus...depending on what kind of team it is.

For game play, its a lot like the old X-Men Eternity/Legends maps...just with much more to do now. You run around and kill everything that gets in your way. Bosses give massive exp and drop items that help. You can choose to work as a team or separately (advantages to both). But at the same time, the only way you win is if you destroy the other two team's bases.

I've made it so that the special shop is MUCH harder to get in to. The terrain is less exploitable so that mutants with a teleport/jump ability don't have the advantage early on in the game. There are spots for ambushing, (based on terrain levels).

As for other aspects to the game, I'm adding a knockback trigger for whenever a unit has a critical strike. I had a funny idea to include the legacy virus, (as an item that adds the effect to your attack. If you die from it's effects then you won't re-spawn...and it would infect teammates as well if you decided to attack them). It would be a completely different way to win the game on your own, lol.

What do you think?

I'll be looking for people to help test it soon. I'm on the East-Coast server under the name GreenHocker, (so if anyone's interested...just let me know).

So I haven't had much time to work on this over these past few months. Sry to say, because I hoped to get it out BEFORE the movie came out...

Just popping in to say that I've resumed working on this, but I'm still a noob at this stuff (so I don't know how fast I'll be able to go).

Anyone who wants to help need not be shy

Foxy: Thanks! I'm glad someone else sees what I see! (It means I'm not doing it in vain). Custom models are part of my vision for this, but I'm still trying to finish the details of the map. There is a custom destructible that I'm looking for: A fake wall, (1 block x 3 blocks), that looks exactly like the beige square tiled-wall texture, (destructible wall for secret areas that blends with the permanent terrain). If you still want to make some of the mutants, then by all means!

Super Good: Apocalypse and Sinister are still there, and eventually so will Apoc's Four Horsemen. I haven't removed stuff. It's either been added, changed, or (in a few cases) left the same.
