The Blood after the brush list is not displaying it should be almost instant

This is not my topic, but Im curious, I have the brush list unitcked but if I try to open object editor it freezes the whole WE for 4 seconds or so and every tab does that as well(only first time I open them)

Even some maps with a lot of custom units (at least 100) only take about 3 seconds to load for me.
I don't know of anything that could reduce the loading time even further.

Still, that is for loading the units. Copy/pasting should be almost instantly now. The brush list really makes a huge difference in that.

It might be that your laptop does increase the wait time a little bit (especially for loading the units then).

I have a feeling that if you store warcraft on a SSD (Solid State Drive, a very fast hard drive, also expensive) that the object editor will load almost instantly, but on a regular hard drive edo494 might be correct.
This is just an assumption though :)

Application load time mainly depends on your hard drive, not your processor. That's why I said an SSD would probably make a huge difference in loading those objects (as it is way faster than a regular hard drive).
Besides, 8,8 Ghz? The world record is currently 8,3 Ghz and they had to use buckets of liquid nitrogen to make it sure it didn't instantly melt down.

I'm going to assume you have a 2,2 Ghz Quad core proc (which some macbooks use), but multiple cores cannot run the same program (when talking about the WE at least) to make it faster.
Only 1 core can, so that is a processing power of 2,2 Ghz.

For a solution, before you close WE next make sure that you don't close the window object editor. Next time you open WE the lag that would be put into loading the object editor would be transferred to when load up WE and loading your map.
The lag when you open object editor means that you are opening a whole lot of data at once and it needs to process it(or transfer according to Ap0calipse) that wasn't loaded previously.

It is all based on file I/O times. Once the files are loaded from backing storage they cached in memory but by the OS and probably by the game.

Try using my experimental JAVA booster program. If you have enough free memory it will force all WC3 data into memory resulting in much faster innitial load times. It also loads the data much faster as it does everything sequentially in bulk as opposed to in a random access fassion.
