Wooded Isle

~~Inhabited by trolls and furbolgs, the two have allied to defend their ancient home. The twisting path of trees makes it hard to coordinate attacks, so be wary when venturing out. There is only one way into your enemy's base, and only one way out.~~

This map is a map that will probably start off slowly, but after the central creep camps are cleared there will be quite a lot of action. There is only one way into your enemy's base to begin with, but a goblin laboratory near each base is defended only by a gate. There are also very thin treelines around the 2 starting points, so artillery or sappers can clear a new way into your base with ease. There is a tavern in the center of the map, and 2 shops.

The expansion spots in the corners are very hard to attack due to the choke point - unless you want to fight in a choke point. Your natural expansions are somewhat wide open, leading to some probable towering. There is nothing of interest on the small islands other than some ruins and a graveyard.

Plenty of choke points on this map, however the trees can be destroyed very easily so what was once a choke point can become a open killing field.

Map Review:

Hello Dylennis. Its seems like you just registered a few days ago and I'm quite happy to see a new user submitting his first map as a melee map. Anyway let me review it for you.

The terrain, symmetrically, is done quite good especially for a first timer (Assuming that its your first map since its your first submitted resource.) with a lot of paths leading to different areas(while there is only one route to your enemy) extending the possibilities for strategies and the fact that players have access to Goblin Laboratory just made this map more exciting. My only complain about the terrain is that it looks really empty and flat. A good use of tile variations and putting a few decorations(eg crates, lantern, cage, log, shrubs, flower, etc.) will do the magic here. Also never use the noise tool to make heights since its ugly as fuck.

Overall I really like this map for a first timer and adding a extra goldmine to claim guarded by red camps makes this map recommendable for competitive gamer.

P.S. can't really check the drop since I can't open it on my world editor(Furbolg bug.) But I guess the drops are fine when I checked it on Warcraft 3. Gonna give it a 3.

Kinda reminds me of the Isle of Dread from World of Warcraft, and I love Feralas a lot.
I cant try out your map with my laptop, but I just had surgery a few days ago, and I am stuck at my Family's house

I like that the expo is through the trees from your starting base and a long hike around. It adds an element to melee play where you can decide if you want to make an effort to connect your base through the trees or not. The expo can be rewarding but its hard work. The player that decides not to expo and rushes may get an advantage too. Great dynamics, but a bit small overall, (pretty sweet)/5.
