Cool model, and Blooddancer, modify the sphere abillity, and make a trigger that add an abillity and remove the old each time you finishes an upgade.
Yes, you can attach models easily by modifying the sphere ability like this:

Art - Target [armor model here]
Art - Target attachment point 1 chest
Art - Target attachment point 2 nothing
Art - Target attachment point 3 nothing...
Art - Target attachments 1

Then just copy that ability and make a separate one for every armor.

And then use the triggers
Unit - Add ability
Unit - Remove ability

to attach and remove armors from units
